Can I use iCue on my computer?

For the best iCue experience, we recommend the following:

Note: The minimum streaming video bandwidth requirement is approximately 200 kb/sec per user for the lowest quality stream. Therefore, if 10 users were streaming video concurrently, the minimum bandwidth requirement would be approximately 2 Mb/sec. The recommended bandwidth requirement is 600 kb/sec per user for the highest quality video stream.
Quality of videos: Videos are streamed at 3 different bit rates to allow for the best quality for your bandwidth. The NBCU Video Player automatically determines your connection speed and chooses the highest quality stream for the amount of bandwidth that is available.

Do I need special software?

What kind of files does iCue transmit to my computer?

The types of files that will be transmitted through the site/network are:

  • JPG files
  • JPG files
  • SWF (shockwave files)

The average video file size is 8 MB.

Will the Internet filters on my computer interfere with iCue?

If your home or school uses Internet filtering, please check with your network administrator to make sure http://www.icue.com (and all *. icue.com domains), *. edgecfs.net, *. nbc.com, and *. nbcuni.com are unfiltered from any firewalls and/or access controls.

Will iCue download anything onto my computer?

Using iCue is completely safe. You will not encounter any spyware, adware, or other programs designed to track your online activity while using iCue. iCue does use "cookies", which are small text files that are placed on your hard drive. This file records preferences and other data about your visit to iCue, allowing us to "remember" you on your next visit. A cookie cannot be used to get data from your hard drive, get your email address, or steal sensitive information about you.
